In an era radically marked by the digital revolution, where daily narratives and experiences are increasingly assimilated by the dynamics of gamification, turning war, the climate crisis, migration, and human relations into a "game", contemporary art is compelled to question its own agency and fundamental purpose.

Can artistic practice reclaim the urgency of a critical discourse, at once singular and collective, or is it fated to subside into a mere consumer commodity, an "Instagrammable" spectacle, and a superficial artifact of our contemporary moment? Curated by sociologist Anna Simone, the group exhibition A che gioco stiamo giocando? emerges precisely to unpack this crucial inquiry:

«If the destructive game of power has become visible to all, permeating our everyday lives, art must continue to generate friction and resistance, even to the point of constructing new worlds. [...] The creative act is inherently revolutionary because it generates the very rules of its own game—composing, decomposing, deploying, or altogether discarding them.» Anna Simone, excerpt from the curatorial text.

Through a choral dialogue among eleven contemporary artists, the exhibition unfolds as an articulated trajectory that bridges intimate introspection with irreverent provocation. Spanning dystopian reflections on "end of the world" narratives to critiques of neocolonial, patriarchal, and extractivist logics; from the geometric codifications of warfare to the ironic reappropriation of the mundane and gender stereotypes, the exhibited works demystify the static roles enforced by power dynamics.
